DEVELOPER DEVELOPER DEVELOPER

A developer must know the structure of your content before the CMS is configured. When you put the content into the CMS, it is storing that content in a database. In simplest terms, when a page is requested by a viewer the CMS goes to the database to find the content, and the CSS to find the styling and the templates to find the layout, and puts together the HTML that creates the page.

We usually ask for samples, and then walk you through the content models and types. For example, an article may have a title, author, post date, summary, text, taxonomy terms. While an event will have event name, date, time, location, registration URL, you get the picture. We need to know each type of content so that we can create the database structure and rules for entering, storing and displaying the content. Without that, there is no way to configure the Content Management System.
